Left over Easter eggs ?

If you have some left over Easter eggs or have brougt some after Easter at reduced price (like i have me) you could make the below chocolate Krispie nests by just adding some rice Krispies or Coco
Pops , cornflakes will also work.

Just use 300g chocolate per 200g Rice Krsipies. Melt chocolate and mix in Krispies place in cake cases and top with Mini Eggs . Then place in fridge to set

Easy 3 ingredient fudge - Cookies and Cream

There have been lots or recipes on social media lately and having a sweet tooth decided to make the 3 ingredient fudge.

I opted for the cookies and cream flavour , see below recipe

397g tin of condensed milk
400g white chocolate (i used cheap chocolate from Salisbury at 50p per 100g bar)
packet of Oreo biscuits

1. Place condensed milk and broken up chocolate into large heavy based saucepan. Heat over low heat until chocolate has melted , stirring often

2.  With biscuits still in packet bash with a rolling pin to break them inside packet.

3. Once chocolate is melted and no lumps remove from heat and gently stir in the crumbled Oreo's

4. Tip into a square tin 8x8cm lined with baking paper . Transfer to fridge to set , overnight if possible

5. Once set cut into small squares and enjoy !!!!!

You could make different variations by using milk chololate instead of white and perhaps chopping up a Crunchie bar or even Maltesers.
You can use your imagination and let me know if you make it
 at home ?

2 wear or not 2 wear - in love with this shirt dress

Today i wore this dress from Monsoon which i purchased last year in sale but today is the first time i have worn it !!!!!
The material is heavy so drapes well and does not crease at all ...great no need to iron !!!!!!!
Pink is my favourite colour and this has two different shades of pink along with lovely shade of green. Also it has pockets on the side and who does not love a pocket !!!!!!  The belt is adjustable which nips you in at the waist.  I do like a shirt dress as i think they suit most body shapes and you can wear some buttons open at the neck or the skirt depending on your mood. I think it looks great with my rose gold Dune trainers but i would also wear it with some ankle boots or maybe kitten heel slingbacks.
I think this will be a dress i will get a lot of wear from in the future and it will not really date so many years of wear i hope.

Missing afternoon teas ?

I am defiantly missing going to Afternoon teas and eating all the lovely food especially the scones with jam and cream.
Those who read my blog would of seen the Mothers day afternoon tea i did at home. It was lovely day and not too much effort as brought the cakes from M & S so just had to make a few sandwiches.
This tea got a mention on on this link

I also just did a cream tea at home few weeks ago and made the scones. I think i will do this again and have in the garden along with some prosecco or champagne.
We need to cheer ourselves up during this difficult times

2 wear or not 2 wear - florals are on trend for summer

This shirt dress ticks all boxes for me
1. Great floral print
2. Pleated skirt
3. asymmetric hem which adds interest
4. lovely material which does not crease
5. wash and wear NO ironing required

I purchased it from just before Christmas It was not expensive about £29 i think
Looks great with my white cowboy style boots

Bakedin baking club

Just before Christmas i decided to join the Bakedin baking club after getting a special offer for their mug cakes via My Vodafone rewards.
It costs £9 per month or slightly cheaper if you subscribe to a 3,6 or 12 month plan. Each month you will receive a baking kit with easy to follow instructions and you just need to add your cold ingredients like milk, butter and eggs. I like the fact that you get a full recipe card with ingredients so you can re make it again if you want at later date.

For Easter i made the chocolate dripping cake which tastes amazing....i just added the extra mini eggs for the Easter theme.
It was surprising how easy to was to make

Below are the over two kits i have made, both very nice and pleased how they came out.
Looking forward to receiving Aprils baking kit

Recipe easy strawberry scones

As i am so missing going to afternoon teas decided to make my own scones today. They are so easy to make and tasted delicious especially with jam and clotted cream.
Below is the recipe so you can make them yourself at home

Strawberry scones

450 g self raising flour
2 teaspoons caster sugar
pinch of salt
60g chilled butter chopped
12 fluid ounces milk
150 g chopped strawberries
extra milk for brushing
Strawberry jam and clotted cream to serve with

Preheat oven to 220C/200C fan oven. Lightly grease and sprinkle baking tray with flour

Put flour in large bowl add the salt and sugar and chopped butter. Mix with fingertips till resembles fine breadcrumbs
Add the milk and strawberries and mix to form  dough. If sticking to hands add bit more flour .

Sprinkle the surface with flour and kneed dough to  form smooth ball

Roll out to 2.5 cm thick and cut into 5cm diameter rounds with cutter , place on prepared baking trays

Bake for approx 15 mins till golden on top

2 wear or not 2 wear - Todays casual outfit

Have not worn jeans for ages as lately prefer dresses or skirts .....these jeans are old and so stretchy and comfortable. The top i have had for about 2 years and is from Next.  Just goes to show how long animal print has been in fashion and i love the bright colours in this top. Very different from the traditional brown and black leopard print !!!!!!!
I think the white trainers with a touch of animal print on sides and back look great with this outfit .

Trainers from Dorothy Perkins last
year bargain £12 in sale
Very comfortable
